Achieving Success One Thought at a Time!

Success Strategy: Talk the Talk . . .

While we may not have the power or ability to control the external world and the people who live in it and what they may or may not do, we DO have the innate, God-given power and ability to control how we respond to life's events, conditions and circumstances.  And, as part of my "talking the talk," I know for sure that how we respond to those events, conditions and circumstances today will undoubtedly determine what happens tomorrow.  Guaranteed.

Success Manual Success Strategy No. 1: Don't Just "Talk the Talk" - Learn to "Walk the Walk"

A fascinating observation that I have noted over the past several years is the dramatic increase in what I will generally refer to as "life coaches."  These are individuals who, hopefully, have achieved some level of personal success and have studied, learned, experienced or otherwise grasped the means of achieving such "extra ordinary" success (on any level) that they now have the ability to help others do the same.

Count myself as one, although I have never coached anyone, other than to offer my (hopefully) solicited opinion in an honest and selfless attempt to assist my fellow human brethren in need.  I can honestly admit, however, that I have offered - and probably far too much - my unsolicited opinon to others in probably what was a selfish attempt to anwer or solve their problems.

We are all great at giving advice.  We are all great at "knowing" what others must do in order to better their respective life circumstances.  We are all great at seeing what is "wrong" with others and their lives.  To put it bluntly, we all believe we somehow know better.

Most of humanity does a phenomenal job of "talking the talk."  But, how well do we all "walk the walk?"

Case in point: Me.  I can "see" everyone else's problems; but, how well do I "see" my own?  I seemingly "know" the answers to everyone else's dilemma; but, how well do I "know" the answers to those of life's questions, issues and problems that I face?  I think we all do a pretty good job of telling ourselves that we already have everything fixed, under control, and that life is grand, for if we did not, then surely, we would never think of having the answers to others' problems.

But, are we fooling ourselves?  Let's be brutally honest.

As Bob Proctor would say, "Look at your results."  I think he is right.

Don't get me wrong - bad things do happen in life.  Problems, if that is the term we choose to identify such events, conditions or circumstances, in life are inevitable.  As has been said, "sheet happens."  Divine Providence or not, we will all face our own "crosses to bear."

Guaranteed.

Through the ages, anyone seeking an honest gain in personal development or self improvement (which I will define as a personal quest seeking the holistic improvement of mental, emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual health - separately or in combination) fully realizes as much.  From the ancient Greek philosophers and down through the ages culminating in the "new thought" movement of the last century and a half, all the way to our modern day "gurus," that single important message has probably been the MOST repeated, MOST learned, but LEAST understood principle.

Talking the talk may be the expression of the message, but walking the walk is the means of actually achieving the results.  We have all heard the expression "talk is cheap."  Well, it is.  Very cheap.  Especially today.

Talking may be predicated upon knowledge (notice the emphasis on the word "may").  But, knowledge alone will not cut it.  Implementation, execution, adoption - whatever term you choose - will only raise the tide and move us upward.  Anthony Robbins sums it up all the time in one word: ACTION!

A true Christian is not someone who can merely quote passages of scripture.  Anyone of any faith or belief, including anyone of no faith or belief, can learn to do that.  A true Christian, however, is someone who lives the life of Jesus Christ all day, everyday.  The former (talker) may have knowledge; but the latter (a walker) has true wisdom.  There is a fundamental difference.

To be continued . . .

Peace Out - and NAMASTE!

To your Health, Wealth, Prosperity and Success,

The Success Manual Team
