Today's addition to The Success Manual Free Download Library is a timeless classic by Russell H. Conwell, Founder of Temple University in Philadelphia. Entitled "Acres of Diamonds," this work is a lecture that Conwell gave literally thousands of times throughout his life. I suppose each delivery may have been a bit different from the prior and the next, but the sum and substance remained the same.

Russell Conwell was a remarkable man. Incredibly bright, a lawyer, a business person, a pastor, an orator, a philanthropist, and founder and president of a university. And through it all, he never lost his sense of direction - his Faith - and further maintained brilliant wit and humor. He served in the Civil War, fighting for the Union, and had the privilege of meeting President Abraham Lincoln to present a personal plea that one of Conwell's younger soldiers who had allegedly fallen asleep while on watch duty not be executed according to orders. Lincoln granted Conwell's request, although it is doubtful that the execution would have taken place in any event.
I only read Acres of Diamonds when compiling and editing the work for The Success Manual Free Download Library. It is enjoyable, warm and stirs the soul. I had no idea what I had been missing!
