We tend to see the world from one of two perspectives: 1) things happen TO us (we are not in control of our lives; our lives are at the mercy of other people, events and circumstances; our paradigm is that of victim consciousness, a destructive state of being), OR, 2) things happen BECAUSE of us (we are in control of our lives by virtue of having control of our thoughts, feelings, actions, behavior; as a consequence, we control the results and experiences of our lives; our paradgim is that of prosperity consciousness, a constructive state of being). If you can understand this and shift your paradigm from victim to prosperity consciousness, you will transform your life towards the better – Guaranteed!
It is a fact known to all students of mental phenomena that very few persons possess more than a very small degree of concentration. They allow their mental forces to become scattered and dissipated in all directions, and obtain little or no results from the same. In the degree that a man is able to concentrate, so is he able to manifest mental power. A man’s power of mental concentration is to a great extent his measure of greatness.
Wealth-Culture consists in making constructive use of the people and things in your environment. First, get a clear mental picture of what you want – be very specific, very clear. Second, define a clear mental image of the Purpose for attaining what you want. Third, do everything perfectly in the present moment, even if it seems unrelated to your ultimate goal, for you must first master the present before you may transcend to a higher level. Fourth, keep unwaivering Faith that you will attain your goal, that God hears you, and that the Universe will respond. Do this, and you cannot fail to Succeed!
You can obtain what you want only by applying your faculties to your work and your environment; you become able to apply your faculties successfully by acquiring Power-Consciousness; and you go forward by a concentration on today’s work, and by doing perfectly everything that can be done at the present time. You can get what you want in the future only by concentrating all your energies upon the constructive use of whatever you are in relation with today. Put LIFE into EVERY action. An indifferent or half-hearted use of the elements in today’s environment will be fatal to tomorrow’s attainment.
Apollo 13 is one of the greatest Success stories of all time. I can think of no other true, real life accounting of the triumph of the human will and Spirit to overcome such adversity, with so much at stake – human lives. The story of Apollo 13 is the ultimate Success; it was a true MIRACLE. If Apollo 13 can teach us anything, it is this: ANYTHING is possible, ANYTHING.
You must do – perfectly – all that you can do now; and it is the law that by doing perfectly all that you can do now you will become able to do later things which you cannot do now. The doing to perfection of one thing invariably provides us with the equipment for doing the next larger thing, because it is a principle inherent in nature that life continuously advances. Every person who does one thing perfect is instantly presented with an opportunity to begin doing the next larger thing. This is the universal law of all life, and is unfailing.
Power-Consciousness is what you feel when you know that you CAN do a thing and you know HOW to do the thing. If you KNOW that you CAN succeed, and you KNOW HOW to succeed, Success is within your grasp; for if you know that you can do a thing and know that you know how to do it, it is impossible that you should fail to do it, if you really try. When you are in full Power-Consciousness, you will approach the task in an absolutely Successful frame of mind. Every thought will be a Successful thought, every action a Successful action; and if every thought and action is Successful, the sum-total of all your actions cannot be anything other than SUCCESS.
Getting what you want is success; and success is an effect, coming from the application of a cause. Success is essentially the same in all cases; the difference is in the things the successful people want, but not in the success. It is, therefore, mathematically certain that you can succeed if you will find out the cause of success, and develop it to sufficient strength, and apply it properly to your work; for the application of a sufficient cause can not fail to produce a given effect.
Much has been written over the years as to the various elements necessary to attain Success in any endeavor, particularly wealth, prosperity and financial Success. In this regard, the “Law of Attraction” has probably received more attention than any other topic over the past few years. Yet, few still do not truly understand the Law, how it works, and how to properly apply it to achieve the desired results.
It was a wonderful discovery to us when it was revealed to us by the Spirit that we are day by day being tested, and that our everyday life is nothing really in itself, but is a continuous trial, training and experience, leading up to various stages of initiation . . . In the external life of business, and what not, it is the man or woman who has a steadfast mind, and who refuses to be stampeded when everything appears to be lost, who wins through and becomes securely and substantially successful. In the spiritual life the same thing holds true. It is the steadfast soul who wins through.
When man is convinced that he is, in himself, master over his life, he can no longer believe that his life is controlled by environment. He must absolutely reject the latter belief; both cannot be true to any one mind; therefore, every mind must decide which one of these beliefs to accept as absolutely true, and which one to reject as absolutely untrue. When man is in a state of self-supremacy, he is in a state where no influence from without exists; he is in a world where the power of self-mastery is the only controlling power; therefore, he cannot truthfully recognize any other.
One of the principal causes of failure in life is due to inability to control the thoughts. Wrong thoughts reach the subconscious mind, these are translated into wrong actions and these bring failure and disaster in their train. When the thoughts are uncontrolled, then the subconscious mind will act upon any thought or suggestion that may “float” in. Therefore do not accept the suggestions of those, who having failed in life, proceed to call it hard names. Life is what we like to make it. We can make it like heaven itself, full to the brim with all that is good and beautiful, or we can turn it into a perfect hell. We can make life a continual joy, if we create a heaven within us by the quality of our thinking and mental processes.
All the processes of Nature are Successful. Nature knows no failures. She never plans for anything but Success. She aims at results in every form and manner. To Succeed in the best and fullest sense of the term, we must, with Nature as our model, copy her methods. In her principles and laws we shall discover all the secrets of Success. – Raymond Holliwell, “Working with the Law”
