Success Key No. 12: Discipline Yourself for Success

Your thought habits are subject to your control and self-discipline. They are the only circumstances of your life over which you have complete control. This privilege carries with it a heavy responsibility because it is the one privilege that determines, more than any other, the position in life you shall occupy. If this privilege is neglected by your failure to voluntarily form habits designed to lead to the attainment of definite ends, then the circumstances of life which are beyond your control will do the job for you, and what an extremely poor job it often becomes!

Free Success Ebook: “The Secret of Success” by William W. Atkinson

Every person possesses dormant and latent Individuality – but only a few allow it to express itself. The majority of us are like human sheep trotting along complacently after some self-assertive bellwether, whose tinkling bell serves to guide our footsteps. We have absorbed the notion somehow that these bellwethers possess the sum and substance of human knowledge and power, and ability to think – and instead of unfolding our own dormant powers, and latent possibilities, we allow them to remain in obscurity, and we trot along, jogitty-joggity-jog after our pet bellwether. People are very much like sheep in this way – they are obedient and imitative animals, and rather than assume the responsibility of directing their own footsteps, they wait until someone takes the lead, and then away they stampede after him. Is it any wonder that the leaders claim the choicest pickings for themselves, and allow the flock to get only the scrubby grass?

The Success Strategist: The Law of Attraction

There is in Nature a great Law – the Law of Attraction – by the operations of which all things – from atoms to men – are attracted toward each other in the degree of the common affinity of common use. The Law of Attraction is Universal, on all the planes of life, from the physical to the spiritual. Its operations are uniform and constant, and we may take the phenomena of one plane and thereby study the phenomena of another plane, for the same rule applies in each case – the same Law is in operation in the same way.

Success Key No. 11: Strength Grows Out of Struggle

Struggle forces us to move when we would otherwise stand still. And it leads us eventually to the full realization that success comes only through struggle. Nothing worthwhile in life is ever achieved without a struggle. If it were easy, everyone would do it. Wherever you find a successful person, you will find a person who has struggled in his or her life. Life is a struggle and the rewards go to those who meet difficulty face to face, overcome it, and move on to the next challenge.

Success Strategy: The Seven Steps to Self-Confidence

A prerequisite to Succeed is that of attaining, cultivating and executing Self-Confidence. Generally, the greater one’s Self-Confidence, the greater the Success. How often have we heard the maxim that Success goes to “the man who thinks he can?” That is, the person who has the Self-Confidence in his or her ability to Succeed is the one who Succeeds. A careful analysis of the most Successful individuals of the world shows that the dominating quality that they ALL possessed was Self-Confidence. Nobody can bring you Success except yourself, and whether or not Success is attained is a function of your Self-Confidence.

Success Key: Some Succeed, Others Fail . . . Why?

The successful person knows precisely what she desires, has a plan for getting it, believes in her ability to get it, and devotes a major portion of her time to acquiring it. The success is a master salesperson who has learned the art of influencing others to cooperate in a friendly spirit to carry out her plans and purposes. The successful person keeps her mind and outlook on life positive at all times. There is a big difference in both the words and the deeds of the successful person and the failure. But each person is where she is and what she is because of her own mental attitude toward herself and others.

From Obstacles to Stepping Stones: The Key to Victory

Napoleon’s greatest obstacle proved his sure means to victory. His descent on the other side of the Alps when he sought to conquer Italy so surprised the people in that country that they were practically conquered without opposition. The shock of his doing what was deemed impossible took away their power of opposition. So, it is with all difficulties. Obstacles viewed from a higher point of view are invariably stepping stones to Success. The person who Succeeds is the person who wins in spite of circumstances, in spite of adverse conditions, who wins when other people say it is impossible, who rides over obstacles and uses them as platforms to reach even further, higher. That is because the very struggle to overcome obstacles develops within the power to carry us towards our goal.

The Golden Rule – A Lost Success Key?

The Golden Rule means, substantially, to do unto others as you would wish them to do unto you if your positions were reversed. The law upon which the Golden Rule is based begins affecting you, either for good or evil, the moment you release a thought. It has amounted almost to a world-wide tragedy that people have not generally understood this law. Despite the simplicity of the law it is practically all there is to be learned that is of enduring value to man, for it is the medium through which we become the masters of our own destiny.
